This spring, Montoursville Area School District fielded a Mock Trial team that won the local division championship, and competed in the Pennsylvania state finals in Harrisburg. Bret Southard served as the attorney advisor of the team, and traveled with the team to the statewide competition.
Montoursville's team was one of 316 teams from 267 high schools that started competition in the district and regional levels of Pennsylvania's mock trial competition. Only Montoursville and 11 other high school teams advanced to the state mock trial championships. All 12 teams competed in two quarterfinal rounds on Friday, March 27, 2009.
Bret has worked with many high school students over the years and Montoursville's team has been consistently successful in competition.
